Welcome, AI Insiders!

Everyone keeps asking when AGI will arrive. OpenAI’s CEO said maybe we’ve been asking the wrong question. He’s walking back the buzzword that built OpenAI’s brand, just as GPT‑5 hits the public and pressure ramps up. Meanwhile, Meta is decoding brains, Nvidia is upgrading how robots learn, and Perplexity just made a $34.5B move that Google definitely noticed.

📌 In today’s Generative AI Newsletter:

  • Meta’s TRIBE AI predicts how your brain reacts across modalities

  • Nvidia’s RTX Pro Blackwell GPU rolls out to Dell, Cisco, HPE and more

  • Altman buries the AGI label as OpenAI faces pushback on GPT‑5

  • Perplexity offers $34.5B to buy Chrome before regulators force it

🧠 Meta’s TRIBE AI Predicts Brain Reactions Across Senses

Meta FAIR( Fundamental AI Research) has built a new 1B-parameter AI system called TRIBE that predicts how your brain responds when you watch, hear, or read something. TRIBE uses a fusion of three separate Meta models across video, audio, and text to simulate spatio-temporal brain activity at a level not previously achieved.

What’s lighting up in the lab:

  • Multisensory modeling: TRIBE combines Llama 3.2 for text, Seamless’s Wav2Vec2-BERT for audio, and V-JEPA 2 for video to simulate reactions across 1,000 brain regions.

  • Award-winning performance: The system took first place at the Algonauts 2025 challenge, outperforming single-modality models by 30%.

  • High-resolution training: Built using the Courtois NeuroMod dataset, which tracks how the brain reacts to 80 hours of movies using fMRI scans.

  • Open-source release: Code, model weights, and data have been published for researchers at Meta's GitHub and CNeuromod.

TRIBE mimics sparsity with modality dropout and struggles with recurrence. Brain regions can also shift slightly, which fMRI doesn’t always catch. But none of that stopped Meta from publishing the model, the data, and the win. They say it’s for science. But if your next ad knows exactly when to make you cry, you’ll know where it started.

🔌NVIDIA Rolls Out Enterprise-Ready Blackwell Servers for AI and Robotics

NVIDIA is rolling out a major upgrade to enterprise infrastructure with its new RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell Server Edition GPU. Designed for AI-heavy environments, these GPUs are now being integrated into 2U servers from Dell, Cisco, HPE, Lenovo, and Supermicro. The move positions NVIDIA’s latest chips at the center of on-premises AI, digital twin simulation, and industrial robotics.

What’s being deployed:

  • Enterprise-first performance: The RTX PRO 6000 delivers up to 45 times faster throughput than CPU-only systems, with 18 times better energy efficiency

  • Blackwell architecture inside: Features include fifth-gen Tensor Cores, a second-gen Transformer Engine with FP4 precision, and new virtualisation tools for running multiple AI workloads per GPU

  • Infrastructure for AI factories: Dell’s updated PowerEdge R7725 includes two RTX PRO 6000s and NVIDIA AI Enterprise software, aimed at space- and power-constrained enterprise environments

  • Omniverse support: New SDKs support ray-traced 3D Gaussian splatting, synthetic data generation, and robot simulation using OpenUSD and MuJoCo

NVIDIA is also updating its entire Cosmos suite. Cosmos Reason, a 7B-parameter vision-language model, enables robots and agents to reason with physical context. Cosmos Transfer-2 speeds up data generation from 3D inputs. Companies like Uber, Magna, Lightwheel, and Skild AI are already using these tools for training autonomous systems.

🧩 Sam Altman Says AGI No Longer Means Much

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman is walking away from the term that built his empire. In an interview with CNBC, Altman said “AGI” is no longer a useful concept, calling it too slippery to mean anything consistent. This shift comes as OpenAI rolls out GPT‑5 and faces growing scrutiny for overpromising on progress while underselling its flaws. Investors still cling to the AGI dream. But inside the industry, the mood is changing fast.

Here’s what’s being questioned:

  • Vague terminology: Altman said AGI has too many definitions floating around, with no shared clarity on what it actually means.

  • Changing work landscape: His personal benchmark for AGI involves automating a large share of work, but that target keeps moving as the nature of work itself evolves.

  • More progress, less hype: Altman prefers framing AI as a continuum of increasing capability, not a binary state of “AGI or not.”

  • Expert skepticism: AI researchers like Nick Patience and Wendy Hall argue that AGI hype distorts public understanding and enables overpromising from tech firms.

The term AGI once promised a North Star. GPT‑5 might not be AGI, but OpenAI’s valuation just hit $500B. The term did its job. What comes next may depend less on brain-like intelligence and more on who controls the narrative and how long the public keeps buying it.

🔍Perplexity Tries to Buy Chrome Before the DOJ Forces Google to Sell

Perplexity AI just made a move that could reshape the entire search economy. The company has submitted an unsolicited $34.5B all-cash offer to acquire Google’s Chrome browser, jumping ahead of a possible court-mandated breakup tied to ongoing antitrust cases. Chrome, which powers two-thirds of global desktop browsing, has become ground zero in the battle for user control and AI dominance online.

What’s on the table:

  • $34.5B in cash: Far more than Perplexity’s own $18B valuation or its ~$1.5B in raised capital

  • 3B users up for grabs: Chrome’s user base offers an instant pipeline for AI search adoption

  • Promises made: Perplexity vows to keep Chromium open-source, maintain Google as the default engine, and invest $3B in the browser ecosystem

  • No equity involved: Outside funds have reportedly offered to cover the full amount, but no names disclosed

This offer arrives just months after the DOJ proposed forcing Google to divest Chrome over illegal search monopolization. OpenAI, Apollo Global, and Yahoo have also shown interest. DuckDuckGo’s CEO previously pegged Chrome’s value at $50B,.The federal judge overseeing the case is expected to decide on remedies this month. Google hasn’t agreed to sell and plans to appeal.

GenAI.Works is building a platform where AI agents, regardless of vendor or stack, can connect, run tasks, and help real businesses grow.

Experts predict the AI agent market could grow to over $52 billion by 2030¹, and AI overall is expected to add $4.4 trillion in economic value each year².

Yet most people still don’t understand how these tools work or how to invest in them.³

That’s where we come in.

We’ve built the world’s largest and most engaged AI community, with over 12 million members and more than 2,500 tools, apps, and templates already in use.

Now, we’re building the technology that ties it all together:

The GenAI Protocol: helps AI agents work together.

The Distribution Engine: turns a simple prompt into a full business workflow, from copywriting to customer outreach.

Instead of trying to guess which AI startup will win, you can invest in the infrastructure they’ll all need.
