A New Deep Learning Model Interprets Cardiotocography Better Than Tradional Methods

Google AI Researchers introduce CTG-net, a deep learning model designed to improve how we interpret Cardiotocography (CTG) data.

CTG is used to monitor fetal heart rate and uterine contractions during pregnancy. Traditional CTG interpretation can be subjective, leading to potential misdiagnosis.

To address this, Google has developed CTG-net, a new AI model that uses a convolutional neural network to predict fetal hypoxia.

This technology has the potential to save lives and improve maternal healthcare globally.

Multimodal Learning in AI, Where Machines Need To Understand Both Text And Images Simultaneously

The new model, Ovis-1.6, developed by Alibaba Group and Nanjing University, offers an innovative solution to a major challenge in this area: the misalignment between visual and textual data.

Ovis-1.6 addresses this problem by introducing a visual embedding look-up table that organizes image data in the same structured way as text.

This innovation allows the model to seamlessly combine both types of data, significantly improving performance across various tasks.

For instance, Ovis-1.6 scored 2230 on the RealWorldQA benchmark, outperforming GPT4V, which scored 2038—a 192-point improvement.

Crawl4 AI is changing the way we gather data for AI

LLMs like GPT-4 and BERT need huge amounts of structured data to perform well.

The problem?

Gathering and preparing it from websites can be slow and inefficient, especially when you need data from hundreds or thousands of sources.
