Microsoft has inaugurated an AI and robotics research and development center in Tokyo's Minato Ward, aiming to integrate artificial intelligence with Japan's robotics expertise.

Collaborating with local universities and companies like Kawasaki Heavy Industries and Nissan Motor, the center focuses on practical applications of AI in robotics.

Additionally, Microsoft offers programs to train individuals in AI-related skills, addressing Japan's aging population and shrinking workforce. This initiative aligns with Microsoft's broader strategy to enhance data center capacity and AI research in Japan.

💊 New AI Model Makes Drug Discovery 99% Accuracy (It's Open Source!)

A team of researchers from multiple institutions (including The University of Lahore and Shenzhen University) have developed VirtuDockDL – a Python-based platform that's crushing it at predicting which compounds could become effective drugs.

Typically, pharma companies need to screen about a million compounds to find one viable drug. It's expensive, time-consuming, and often feels like throwing darts blindfolded. VirtuDockDL is changing this game by using Graph Neural Networks (GNNs) to understand molecular structures better than ever before.

Achieved 99% accuracy on HER2 dataset
Outperformed established tools like DeepChem and AutoDock Vina
Uses Graph Neural Networks (GNNs) for molecular analysis

How It Works

Converts molecular data (SMILES strings) into graph representations
