Anthropic hopes you can't do math
Anthropic told Claude Code users their weekly limits are going up 25 percent. Your actual limit is going down 17.
Everyone currently runs on a "temporary" 50 percent boost, so if your original limit was 100, you have 150 today. On September 14 the permanent level becomes 125.
X's community fact-checkers did the math right under the announcement. Anthropic shared on the same thread that compared to today, a 17 percent reduction.
They wanted to be sweet with it and said the following.
"We're working on exciting changes that will make it feel like you're getting more from Claude, while having more visibility and control of your usage."

OpenAI pulls its models out of Cursor
OpenAI is cutting Cursor off from its models, with November 12 as the proposed shutoff date, two weeks after Elon Musk's SpaceX bought the coding editor for $60 billion.
OpenAI says it can't trust Musk's companies to honor the contract, pointing at a dispute from the Twitter days and Musk's admission under oath that xAI broke OpenAI's terms of service.
Cursor's CEO Michael Truell says OpenAI is only about 5 percent of traffic and the companies are still talking.
Most Cursor users already run Claude or Gemini, and both stay.
Bill Gates wants jobs where AI is banned
Bill Gates wants parts of the job market legally off-limits to AI.
He proposed human reserved work in his latest essay, modeled on nature reserves. Places we could build on but choose not to, because the loss would be too great. Childcare and jury duty are his examples.
He also wants companies taxed for using robots the way they're taxed for employees. He thinks this will slow the rush to replace workers.

OpenAI's favortie customers stop paying for tokens
OpenAI has started offering its biggest customers a new deal. Stop paying for attempts. You pay only when the AI completes the job.
Today you pay for every token whether the answer helped or not. A failed support ticket costs the same as a solved one. Under outcome pricing, a solved ticket has a price and a failed one is free.
This means the risk now is on OpenAI.
Intercom already charges 99 cents per resolved ticket and HubSpot moved to 50 cents per resolved conversation this spring. OpenAI joining them turns AI from a tool you rent into labor you hire.
