Jeff Bezos has recently invested in a company poised to challenge Google.

Highlights:

It's called Perplexity AI.

Ask a question → Receive a summarized answer, ask follow-ups, etc.

Importance:

Compared to Google's experimental SGE and Bing, Perplexity is faster, cites answers better, more personalized, and has fewer hallucinations.

Here’s how to use it:

• Go to the Perplexity AI website

• Ask a question or search for something in the search bar

• Perplexity will give you an answer

• Click the attached links in the answer, use the right-side buttons for images/videos, or explore related searches at the page's bottom.

OpenAI has responded to the NYT's copyright lawsuit with a critical blog post, defending its methods and questioning the Times' motives.

Highlights:

OpenAI states that despite using a content removal tool offered in August, NYT still filed a lawsuit later.

The blog indicates the Times selected prompts to purposely create content replication, not reflecting average user behavior.

Addressing the UK’s Communications and House Select Committee, OpenAI pointed out the difficulties of developing models like ChatGPT under current copyright laws.

Importance:

OpenAI's response to the Times' lawsuit is a notable stand, underscoring the ongoing challenge of changing public skepticism towards AI's content usage.

Figure's Robot Learns from Humans

Highlights:

AI robotics firm Figure recently demonstrated its humanoid robot, Figure 01, successfully making coffee after only 10 hours of observing humans perform the task through video training.

Importance:

The reason why this is so groundbreaking is if you can get human data for an application (making coffee, folding laundry, warehouse work, etc).

You can then train an AI system end-to-end on Figure 01.

There is a path to scale to every use case.

And when the fleet expands, further data is collected from the robot fleet, re-trained, and the robot achieves even better performance.

OpenAI’s GPT Store launching next week

Highlights:

The store enables users to create GPT models without coding and monetize by sharing them for others to use.

Here is how to create your GPT Model with ChatGPT:

1. Log in at http://chat.openai.com.

2. Select "Explore" in the left sidebar.

3. Click "Create a GPT."

4. Describe your chatbot to ChatGPT.

5. Save and publish your GPT.

💡Begin with basics: Start simple, then add details

💡Customize ChatGPT in 'configure': Upload relevant files, selecting which models the GPT should use (Browsing, Code Interpreter, DALL-E), and adding API integrations.
