Backed by billions: Meta recently invested $14.3B into Scale AI and is planning to spend “hundreds of billions” more on its AGI mission

🍏 Apple Might Hand Siri Over to OpenAI and Anthropic

Apple is reportedly in talks with OpenAI and Anthropic to power the next version of Siri, signaling a potential end to its go-it-alone AI strategy. Instead of relying solely on its own models, Apple is exploring deep integrations with outside intelligence.

🎓 Google Floods Classrooms with Gemini AI Tools

Google just unveiled its biggest AI education push yet, rolling out more than 30 tools to put Gemini in the hands of teachers and students. From personalized lesson planning to AI-powered reading buddies, the company is pitching its tech as the future of human-led learning.

Free Gemini for educators: All Google Workspace for Education accounts now get access to Gemini, including AI lesson planning, brainstorming, and content customization

This is Google’s clearest move yet to outflank AI chaos in classrooms and reassert control over how students learn with technology. While others panic about cheating, Google is betting that AI, in the right hands, becomes not a threat but the teacher’s new favorite tool.
🏥 Microsoft Pushes AI Into Elite Medical Territory

Microsoft has unveiled a new diagnostic AI called MAI-DxO that tackles complex medical cases with striking precision. Built in partnership with OpenAI's o3 model, the system is a major leap toward medical superintelligence, capable of outperforming experienced physicians in accuracy and efficiency.
What’s inside:
MAI-DxO solved 85.5% of cases in a new benchmark of 304 difficult scenarios
Human doctors scored 20% on the same set, despite having 5–20 years of clinical experience
Total cost per diagnosis was $2,397, compared to $2,963 for physicians
The AI splits tasks between agents focused on hypothesis generation, test selection, and cost control
A new benchmark, SDBench, was created to evaluate systems on real-world diagnostic complexity
The gap between human and machine in medical reasoning is no longer theoretical. Microsoft’s model demonstrated a level of clinical judgment that many hospitals struggle to match at scale.
