Google has quietly launched Gemini 2.0 Pro Experimental, its latest flagship AI model, through a changelog update in the Gemini chatbot app.
Designed for improved factuality and stronger performance in coding and mathematics, this model is now available to Gemini Advanced subscribers under Googleās AI Premium plan.
However, Google warns that the model is still in early preview, meaning it may exhibit unexpected behaviors and lacks access to real-time information. Meanwhile, Gemini 2.0 Flash, announced in December, is now the default model for all Gemini app users. Googleās low-key rollout comes amid rising pressure from Chinese AI startup DeepSeek, whose cutting-edge models are challenging U.S. tech dominance.
Apple is set to expand Apple Intelligence language support in April, adding French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, and Simplified Chinese, along with localized English versions for India and Singapore. During Appleās Q4 2024 earnings call, CEO Tim Cook confirmed the update, marking a significant expansion from its initial U.S. English-only launch.
In December, Apple introduced support for English variants in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, and the U.K. through iOS 18.2, but no timeline has been announced for the EU or Mainland China. Cook also mentioned that the upgraded Siri, capable of understanding on-screen context, will roll out in the coming months.
Mistral's new Small 3 model comes packed with 24B parameters, achieving 81% accuracy on MMLU with 150 tokens/sec latency.
It's positioned as a replacement for GPT-40-mini and directly competes with Llama 3.3 (70B) and Qwen (32B). The model is 3x faster than Llama 3.3, comes under an Apache 2.0 license, and is available as both pre-trained and fine-tuned checkpoints.
Notably, it uses no RL (reinforcement learning) and no synthetic data. You can access it on la Plateforme, Hugging Face, and other providers. This powerful small model is designed to complement larger systems like DeepSeek-R1!
OpenAI is releasing two versions of the o3-mini family today: o3-mini and o3-mini-high.
These models deliver faster, more efficient reasoning compared to the older o1 models.
Users can select from low, medium, and high performance levels, available on both free and paid ChatGPT tiers. Developers also get API support for seamless integration.
